BLACKHAM TRANSFERS TERMS OF BUSINESS:
We will, wherever possible, give a fixed price quote for the design, manufacture and supply of our dry transfers.
Where it is not possible to give a pre-determined price for some part of the work, we will give our best estimate
for that part and quote a fixed price for the rest of the work. Our quotes are open for acceptance for fourteen days
after the quote date.
Where a separate origination charge is given, it is levied once only on the first order to which that origination
applies. It is not levied on subsequent uses of that origination. The same origination can be used for transfers
differing only in colour from the original, although there may be a variation in the run-on price depending on
the new colour.
Unless previously agreed, we will not accept an order unless it is accompanied by full payment for the work.
At our discretion, we may allow a two stage payment on large orders for bespoke transfers, with a minimum of 50%
deposit required to be paid at the time of order. In such cases, we will give a discount on the full price for
full prepayment at the time of order. We reserve the right to delay delivery until final payment has cleared.
All items remain our property until paid for in full.
Cheques and postal orders should be made payable to Blackham Transfers. We can accept direct payments from
telephone or internet bank accounts. The prices quoted above do not, unless specifically stated, include for
foreign currency exchange or postage to a non-United Kingdom address. Any such charges will be advised separately
and must be agreed by the customer prior to payment for the work.
Cheques and postal orders for amounts less than £15.00 are expensive to process and we reserve the right to levy a surcharge of
£2.00 on all cheques and postal orders made out for values less than £15. Prices below this level will be quoted in terms of
first class (large letter) postage stamps and may be paid by means of these, through PayPal, or direct payments.
In the event of an order being cancelled, we reserve the right to charge for any work on that order undertaken
prior to our having received the cancellation. We also reserve the right to charge for any consequent
administrative items, including postage, bank and PayPal charges.
Whilst we try to deliver transfers within six weeks of order date, delivery period does not form part of our
normal offer to carry out the work. Delivery period will depend on the level of our work load and can extend to a
few months. If a particular delivery period is required this must be agreed prior to our quoting for the work and
will be included in the quote, together with any surcharge for the delivery period.
We will normally deliver our transfers to UK addresses by means of Royal Mail's First Class 'Large Letter' service,
under cover of a certificate of posting. This gives delivery insurance up to a replacement value of £32.
If the order is paid for by means of PayPal, direct payment, cash or First Class (large letter) stamps
(if applicable), we will give free delivery insurance on orders above £32. The Royal Mail's compensation conditions
apply to our delivery insurance. Details of these may be found at http://www.royalmail.com.
In particular, Royal Mail do not regard an item as being lost until two weeks after it was posted.
The insured value of an item is its replacement cost and so does not include any once-of origination charges.
Copyright on artwork created or altered by us remains vested with us unless specifically stated in the quote and
agreed by customer and us. Copyright on unaltered artwork prepared by the customer remains with him. Where we have
to copy a third party's artwork, the customer must have the legal right to copy such artwork and must indemnify us
against any action by the copyright holder resulting from such copying. If we have reason to believe, or become aware that a
third parties permission is required for the use of a design and that our customer has not obtained this,
we reserve the right to refuse delivery of the work and to charge for all works carried out.
We will meet customers' specifications to the best of our ability, but we cannot be held responsible for a
customer's incomplete or mis-specification. This is particularly important with regard to size and colour.
If proof copies of the artwork are to be supplied by us, these will be noted in our quotation, as will any extra
price for the proofs. When proofs are to be supplied, the price for them will normally include for the first proof,
any minor alterations to the artwork in keeping with the original specification and a second proof confirming the
alterations. We reserve the right to charge for extra proofs, major and extra alterations.
Our interpretation of the customer's specification and of terms used in this document, including 'normal',
'standard colours' and 'minor alterations' is final.
Royal Mail's new pricing structure came into effect on 21 August 2006. As from that date, when we offer to accept payment
by means of stamps, we will accept only multiples of First Class Large Letter stamps (currently 44p face value) in payment.
We will not accept ordinary First Class (32p) or other-value stamps in payment and these will be returned less the cost of
postage.
